Vintage Market - Harvest 2012

We're back at it...our Vintage Market - Harvest 2012 is set for Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8, 2012. Due to the popularity of the event--it was a smashing success in March--we were forced to find a bigger location for both the additional of more vendors...and more elbow room for you, the shopper. So, we'll now be in Roscoe, IL, just north of Rockford, on the property of Meyer's Canine Colony. We have a nice, big building and gorgeous shady field for more vendors! The event is being held the same weekend as the Roscoe Fall Festival, a local family event that's been going on for decades! Drop the husband and kids off at the festival and you can shop, shop, shop!

Thank goodness for watering cans...

We've spent the past several weeks, since June 16 to be exact, watering both the lawn and the flower beds. Many of you have been to my yard during my barn sale. Both in early June and mid-October at the sales, the yard always looks great. For those of you who have been lucky enough to get rain this summer...bless you. Here in the Midwest we haven't had rain since the day of my barn sale! Needless to say, my grass is showing signs, the flowers are wilting every day, and the trees are in serious distress. My husband drags the hose around the yard every night to sprinkle and water beds...which has helped. This morning when I took the dog out, I decided to take a closer look at my flowers...and here's what I found...they're surviving pretty well.

There's you know who...seeing what I'm doing! I'm a lucky girl...my husband put in all my brick, with historic bricks from downtown Rockford streets.

This is the only rose in bloom right now...I took the photo at 8am, and by 5pm when I got home, the Japenese beetles had eaten it!

I can't remember what this is called...I bought it at a garage sale two years ago and this is the first time it bloomed.
