Thank goodness for watering cans...

We've spent the past several weeks, since June 16 to be exact, watering both the lawn and the flower beds. Many of you have been to my yard during my barn sale. Both in early June and mid-October at the sales, the yard always looks great. For those of you who have been lucky enough to get rain this summer...bless you. Here in the Midwest we haven't had rain since the day of my barn sale! Needless to say, my grass is showing signs, the flowers are wilting every day, and the trees are in serious distress. My husband drags the hose around the yard every night to sprinkle and water beds...which has helped. This morning when I took the dog out, I decided to take a closer look at my flowers...and here's what I found...they're surviving pretty well.

There's you know who...seeing what I'm doing! I'm a lucky girl...my husband put in all my brick, with historic bricks from downtown Rockford streets.

Shasta Daisy, Day Lily, Roses, Cone Flower

My husband is a "lily" freak...tons in our beds.

This is the only rose in bloom right now...I took the photo at 8am, and by 5pm when I got home, the Japenese beetles had eaten it!

Black Eyed Susan

Two cone flowers that escaped and are living among the Monarda (Bee Balm)

A little shameless self-promotion

Annabelle Hydrangea

I can't remember what this is called...I bought it at a garage sale two years ago and this is the first time it bloomed.

Hydrangea--first blooms in over five years!

Lots of ground cover and ferns in our yard.

Visitors in the pond...five of them...probably all laid eggs too...

Monster Annabelle's!

more Annabelle's...can you tell it's my favorite?

Another favorite...Nasturtiams and Coleus.

A few of my lonely Milk Weed, which I keep for the Monarch Butterflies to lay their eggs on.

Crazy wild Morning Glories taking over the world.

Phlox.

Monster Hosta...can't keep them all straight.

More lily.

Yes, we have weeds too.

Random bird house display.

Shastas on their last leg.

Old Glory.

Nasturtiam.

Annabelles and Monarda.

Hosta flowers.

My freaky tall Monarda...as tall as me!

My "new" vintage gate I bought from a vendor at my barn sale. Trying to decide where to put it.

I know...it rocks.

Even the burdock got huge...too lazy to cut it down!

Mr. Otter pumping away...
Thanks for looking. Enjoy your garden!
